Short but productive!

I've made progress on my granny square blanket.  I'm half way through making the blocks for the LAST row!!! (only a tiny bit excited about this)

Binxy is helping me pick out colors for each block.  I'm putting a little more thought into the color choices for this row.  My random choices all seemed to be rather similar.

I haven't worked on my knitting.  I want to go back to the yarn shop and ask for some help.  I'm making a cowl.  My stitches are tight and I'm afraid it won't fit over my big head.

Second week of YOP is off to a good start!

  12. Love your helper. Picking colours always slows me done. When my honorary granddaughters come over they help me.

  13. I love your profile where you state "and sometimes I finish"...that's me also! LOL! I adore your granny square blanket....gorgeous! I'm making a giant granny square but small (oxymoron). I love having a project that is memorized so you can just pick it up and get on with it. Did you use Join As You Go method? I haven't tried that yet but I would like to when I do my next crocheted blanket. How big is it? How long did it take? Congrats! You're near the finish line now! I am a blanket fiend...I always have one going along with socks. Good for you!

    1. I started this blanket several years ago. I only had about four rows finished when I decided it was time to finish it. I made it a top priority at the beginning of the year. I've had several breaks and a few other projects since the first of the year and I'm very slow. I don't know the exact size but it is fourteen squares on one side by twelve squares on the other. I've been sewing the squares together. I haven't made a join as you go blanket. The next blanket I make will be a continuous row type. This has been fun but I'm ready to move on to something else.

  14. Wow, look at that blanket - it's gorgeous and so nearly finished. Hope the shop can help with the cowl, or perhaps you can turn it into a different style.

  18. Binxy looks like she has some very decided ideas about things! Funny, when I make "random" yarn choices they tend to end up very organized too. Control issues for me!

I hope your yarn store folks are able to help out. It's no fun when projects don't fit!
